Breaking:GOV. FINTIRI SWEARS IN FIRST FEMALE ACTING CHIEF JUDGE IN ADAMAWA

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Monday has sworn in Justice Hapsat Abdurrahman as the Acting Chief Judge of the state at the council chamber government house Yola.

Hapsat being the most senior judge in the state succeeded Justice Nathan Musa who retired last week.

Speaking at the occasion, the Governor expressed delight in the fact that he is the first governor to have nominated a woman as the state’s acting chief judge, describing the development as a triumph for the womenfolk.

“This historic event represents a profound step forward for our State and womenfolk who now see themselves reflected on our highest court”, he said

He charged the appointee to continue to exemplify the virtues of hard work, perseverance and grace for which she is known, adding that as the election approaches, the judiciary must give confidence to the electorate and ensure effective resolution of election-related conflicts.

 

In her acceptance speech, Justice Hapsat said she would not take the position for granted because she saw it as a trust and opportunity to contribute to the state and the country, pledging to discharge her responsibilities with honesty and in accordance with the law.

The outgoing Chief Judge, Justice Nathan Musa, delivered the oath of office and allegiance to the new Acting Chief Judge, Justice Hafsat Abdurrahman.

[Breaking] ADAMAWA STATE GOVERNOR EXTOLS NIGERIAN ARMY CAPACITY TO MAINTAIN PEACE

The Executive Governor of Adamawa state, His Excellency, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has commended the Nigerian Army for its efforts in maintaining peace and security in the state. The Governor gave the commendation on 14 August 2022, when the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), Major General Ibrahim Ali paid him a courtesy visit at Government House Yola, the state capital.

The governor who disclosed his passion for continious peace and development of the state described the military as a noble profession that requires accolade from the citizens. He said, personnel of the military has made a lot of sacrifice for the people to enjoy peace.

Governor Fintiri further revealed that security challenges formally faced by the state are gradually dying down. He maintained that the military are up and doing and needed sincere support of the citizens to consolidate on the achievement.

 

Earlier in his remarks, the GOC and Commander OPSH, Major General Ibrahim Ali, commended the people of the state for taking active part in supporting the troops through information sharing. He said Adamawa state is recently witnessing tremendous development and progress. Such development he said can only be achieved in an atmosphere of peace. The GOC further intimated the Governor about the Army Headquarters Veterans Affairs Third Quarter Seminar and Workshop to be hosted in the state.

NEWS:Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru fintiri has visit the PDP convention


Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness of the forthcoming convention of the People’s Democratic Party on Saturday.

Governor Fintiri who is the Vice Chairman of the party’s accreditation committee called to vote the candidate that will fly the flag of PDP during the 2023 Presidential election in Nigeria is optimistic that the exercise will produce a credible candidate that will change the fortunes of the country.

At the time of Governor Fintiri’s visit to the Moshood Kolawale Abiola stadium Abuja, various committees were in last minute preparations to ensure the success of the convention.


The ATM Governor who on Wednesday clinched the party’s ticket to recontest for another term noted that the venue will accommodate the eight hundred delegates that will be voting during the presidential primary election.

He said what was meant to frustrate PDP has turned to be a blessing as the earlier proposed venue was denied the party.

Governor Fintiri appealed to delegates to do the needful by conducting themselves peacefully during the election.

The convention of the People’s Democratic Party is to hold on Saturday and Sunday.
